President’s Message: DAA Is Only Valuable if Members Get Engaged!
No, we don’t want you to marry fellow DAA members. Instead, you are probably familiar with the term “you only get out of it what you put into it.” That especially applies to associations like DAA. Throughout the first five years of its existence, DAA has relied on members to volunteer to create and maintain excellent member benefits. The hiring of our Executive Director, Mike Levin, has resulted in many new programs as well as ideas for additional member benefits. DAA continues to be dependent upon members to volunteer so that existing programs can be maintained and improved and new programs can be created and implemented. In short, DAA NEEDS YOU!
More importantly, you need DAA too! One of the most tangible benefits an individual can receive by participating in an association is the development of business skills. From project management skills, to the ability to work with diverse individuals from around the globe, to leadership skills and more, volunteering your time to help an association will help you in ways you probably have not connected with being a member of DAA.
There are many channels within DAA for you to hone your business skills while helping your association and industry. This newsletter includes a request from the DAA Education Committee for assistance with specific projects. Education is one of the key pillars of DAA and your help is needed to ensure that DAA is providing the courses and materials you need to advance your career. And there are many other committees which you can match your interests and skills as a volunteer. Find out about the other DAA committees. Then, contact and let him know how you want to become engaged.

“DAA is spreading the word about Digital Analytics”
A huge THANK YOU to Alex Langshur, Cardinal Path, and Matt Gellis, Keystone Solutions.
As part of its mission to promote awareness of digital analytics, the industry and the association, DAA has embarked on a campaign to speak at customer meetings. The association world represents one of the greatest opportunities to advance digital analytics because of the variety of companies that participate. DAA is a preferred speaker at these type of events because the presentations are generic and not commercialized for a specific company.
DAA has provided speakers at two recent association events. Matt Gellis, CEO and Founder of Keystone Solutions, a DAA corporate member spoke at the annual meeting of the Georgia Society of Association Executives in June and Alex Langshur, CEO of Publicinsite, which recently merged to form Cardinal Path, spoke at the New England Society of Association Executives Technology Conference last March. Both of them took time out of their busy schedules to prepare for and travel to the presentations and paid expenses out of their own pocket.
A huge thank you to Alex and Matt! DAA members are encouraged to assist with identifying additional speaking opportunities for DAA and anyone who would be willing to speak at these opportunities should contact .
