Members – Get Involved, Change the Industry in DAA Committees and Special Interest Groups:
For DAA to truly represent our industry we need your active participation. To see the Committees and Special Interest Groups who need your assistance and represents your chance to get involved and change the industry.
The Media SIG was formed in August 2010 and participation is by invitation only.
Its mission is two-fold: To serve as an education source and act as an advocacy group advancing the understanding, best use and monetization of digital measurement and analytics within the media industry. This group delivers expertise within digital analytics helping media companies communicate needs and drive solutions within their organizations. We help media companies understand the human capital, product and services, and methodologies required to deliver superior analytics. We extend our voice to guide our vendors/suppliers to drive the delivery of products, services and the solutions most useful to our needs.
Executive Director Message: WAA to DAA – Members’ Assistance Needed
My presumption in writing this article is that anyone who reads it is already aware of the big announcement of WAA’s rebranding to DAA made at the March 2012 eMetrics in San Francisco. If not, please check out the DAA website and watch the video of the rebranding launch.
One of the reasons the WAA (at the time) Board of Directors believed the rebranding should be done is that the association, and its membership, had already gone beyond just the web and into the world of digital analytics. In making the decision to change the name, the hope from the DAA Board was that you, our members, would engage with us and provide your assistance in coming up with association programs to serve the entire digital analytics industry. The association needs members to be engaged in the expansion of activities including education, research, standards, certification, marketing, membership, special interest groups, and more.
How can you participate in the rebranding and contribute to your association?
Send the Board, via me, your ideas and suggestions on new projects/activities the association should consider. What activities and programs do you want to see the DAA add in 2012? Which projects should we expand, and which have run their course? How can we best communicate with you? What areas should we focus on expanding? All your input is valuable and will contribute to making the DAA even better and more useful for you.
Actively participate and get engaged in one of the DAA’s Committees and provide first hand assistance on existing projects and the creation of new ones.
DAA needs and encourages your participation in the exciting rebranding and growth of the association. It is a proven concept that members who are engaged in their association receive a significantly higher ROI and greatly benefit over those who do not. The more you participate in DAA programs, the more you will like it!
The DAA Board and I look forward to having your engagement in this exciting and important change. Please let me know if you have any questions.

You may have what it takes to test and be certified in just days!
The DAA Web Analyst Certification Program™ is designed to identify not only analysts with broad domain knowledge, but also, and more importantly, analysts demonstrating a high level of analytical and problem solving ability across the entire web business spectrum. The certification exam covers the following key areas: Web Analytics for Site Optimization, Measuring Marketing Campaigns Online, and Creating and Managing the Analytical Business Culture. This differs from certificates that are earned by passing a test to determine you’ve retained course information.
This testing provides flexibility for the candidate to select a date to schedule an individual exam appointment. Computer based examination may be arranged weekdays throughout the year barring local holidays. The opportunity to schedule an appointment to test will be offered after the application has been processed by the DAA Certification Administrator.
How Will You Select the Location and Date for a Computer based Exam
To get signed up for a computer based exam a candidate will complete the DAA Certification Application form and select either a US Computer based Exam or International Computer based Exam on the application form.
Within approximately a week the application will be processed and the candidate will receive an email from the DAA Certification Administrator confirming eligibility to schedule an exam appointment.
Within two days following receipt of the DAA confirmation notice AMP will send information inviting the candidate to identify a preferred testing location from the list of AMP US or International exam centers , The message will also direct the candidate to choose multiple dates they could possibly test and submit the options to AMP so that AMP can coordinate the time and place a candidate wishes to test for certification. *DAA Certification invites eligible analysts to register for special location exams whether you will only test for certification or also participate in the event following the exam sitting.
