Executive Director Message: WAA to DAA – Members’ Assistance Needed
My presumption in writing this article is that anyone who reads it is already aware of the big announcement of WAA’s rebranding to DAA made at the March 2012 eMetrics in San Francisco. If not, please check out the DAA website and watch the video of the rebranding launch.
One of the reasons the WAA (at the time) Board of Directors believed the rebranding should be done is that the association, and its membership, had already gone beyond just the web and into the world of digital analytics. In making the decision to change the name, the hope from the DAA Board was that you, our members, would engage with us and provide your assistance in coming up with association programs to serve the entire digital analytics industry. The association needs members to be engaged in the expansion of activities including education, research, standards, certification, marketing, membership, special interest groups, and more.
How can you participate in the rebranding and contribute to your association?
- Send the Board, via me, your ideas and suggestions on new projects/activities the association should consider. What activities and programs do you want to see the DAA add in 2012? Which projects should we expand, and which have run their course? How can we best communicate with you? What areas should we focus on expanding? All your input is valuable and will contribute to making the DAA even better and more useful for you.
- Actively participate and get engaged in one of the DAA’s Committees and provide first hand assistance on existing projects and the creation of new ones.
See the list of all the DAA Committees and Special Interest Groups.
DAA needs and encourages your participation in the exciting rebranding and growth of the association. It is a proven concept that members who are engaged in their association receive a significantly higher ROI and greatly benefit over those who do not. The more you participate in DAA programs, the more you will like it!
The DAA Board and I look forward to having your engagement in this exciting and important change. Please let me know if you have any questions.
