History of the DAA and UBC:
In 1998 UBC launched an international award-winning Certificate in Internet Marketing education program that was primarily delivered online. One of its first graduates was Andrea Hadley who upon graduation was recruited by UBC Continuing Studies program leaders to sit on the inaugural Board of Directors of the International Internet Marketing Association (IIMA), an association that was born from the alumni of the UBC Internet Marketing Certificate program. After five years serving on the Board of Directors of the IIMA, Andrea went on to become a founding Director of the DAA.
In 2005, within a few months of the DAA launch, UBC approached the DAA Board of Directors with an offer to support the DAA education effort in the delivery of a 100% online education program in web analytics, all the DAA had to do was create and produce educational content and courseware.
Through the outstanding efforts of the DAA Education co-Chairs Jim Novo of The Drilling Down Project and Raquel Collins, UBC Continuing Studies Senior Program Leader along with over 30 committee volunteers representing many of the brightest and best industry leaders and professionals, the content for four online courses was produced making up the UBC and DAA Web Analytics Award of Achievement.
DAA and UBC Agreement:
In September 2005 the DAA and UBC Continuing Studies entered into an official agreement where UBC became a licensee of DAA education content, resulting in the launch of four online courses:
- Introduction to Web Analytics
- Web Analytics for Site Optimization
- Measuring Marketing Campaigns Online
- Creating and Managing the Analytical Business Culture
DAA, UBC and UCI Collaboration:
In October 2007 UBC Continuing Studies and the DAA expanded its education partnership by collaborating with the University of California Irvine Extension, the continuing studies arm of the University of California Irvine, with the launch of a certificate program in Web Intelligence. The program provides a foundational knowledge of practical Web analysis to experienced marketing and business professionals in light of the changing face of e-commerce:
