First of Many New Professional Development Tools

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – April 7, 2015 -- The Digital Analytics Association (DAA) announced today that it has completed development of a Digital Analyst Competency Framework, the industry's first reference compendium of professional skills and performance levels for digital analysts. The Digital Analyst Competencies establish a common standard of performance for digital analysts at three different levels and in two separate tracks, providing organizations and individuals with valuable insight into the skills needed to be successful in a range of professional circumstances.

Starting immediately, DAA members can access and use the Framework's comprehensive content, available in the form of a detailed 32-page document and supporting materials, for reference or for informal self-assessment. Based on the Competency Framework, a robust set of online competency assessment tools and other resources for members will be rolled out by the DAA later this year and in years to come.

The Digital Analyst Competency Framework is the result of six months' intensive work by a dedicated group of subject matter experts from both inside and outside the DAA, including a dozen-member task force, hundreds of volunteer reviewers, and input from a psychometric consulting firm.

"Publishing the Framework is a huge milestone for the DAA as well as for the analytics field itself. It marks an important stage of maturity in our field's evolution, following the past decade of transformation, and it is only the first in an exciting series of DAA products that will enrich analytics practice," said Jim Sterne, DAA Co-Founder and Board Chair. "The Framework is the foundation, capturing and organizing our profession's specific competencies for the first time ever, giving analysts a career road map and their employers a structure for measuring and enabling success."

About the Digital Analyst Competency Framework
The Framework is an inventory of analysts' job tasks – competencies -- at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels and in Analytical and Technical tracks, along with articulations of the knowledge and skills needed to carry out those tasks. It provides a common language and common descriptions, serving as a guide to those who seek to enter the analytics field, to become certified, or to deepen their understanding of the profession. The competencies are dynamic: as the field of digital analytics changes, the Framework's content will be updated accordingly.

For employers, the Framework enables the identification, evaluation, and development of appropriate competencies in individual digital analysts. For individuals, the Framework provides a career path by defining the key skills they should master in order to advance. For the DAA, the Framework will serve as a platform for developing and aligning training programs, educational products and services, and other resources for the industry.

Anyone who is interested in utilizing the Digital Analyst Competency Framework is invited to join the DAA and reap the benefits of participating in a unique, energetic industry community.
