The inaugural 2017 Raleigh Symposium will explore key trends in digital analytics. As the analytics industry matures, successful practitioners are moving from supplying data to providing insights and data-driven recommendations.

Industry veterans from Google, Analytics Demystified, and Houston Astros along with key digital analytics leaders in a Women in Analytics panel will headline an afternoon discussing what they have learned, what-not-to-do, and how we can collectively work to ensure that our digital analytics programs continue to be a source of truth and drive business growth.

Things I Wish I Knew When I Started: A Sports Analytics Perspective

Almost by definition, digital analysts specialize in Change Management, by discovering previously overlooked details and information, digital analysts can identify hurdles and implement improved processes. However, new information is discovered, the hard part really begins. Getting human beings to change “the way it’s always been done” and eliminate inefficiency is often the biggest hurdle with analytics in any industry; Sig will show us how this applies in the world of baseball and sports analytics, with takeaways that can benefit the entire digital analytics community.
