DAA Chapter Election Process
Each year, all DAA Chapters elect their Chapter Officers. Chapter elections offer all members the opportunity to serve and encourage participation within the local chapter. This page describes the details of the nomination and voting process.
1.1. Vote Administration
In order to maintain impartiality, the vote will be administered by Virtual, Inc., (the "Vote Administrator”) the Digital Analytics Association’s Management Company. No members will have access to the voting during or after the election and no member will be involved in the tabulating of the results.
1.2 Eligibility
Requirements for Chapter Officer Nominees:
- Paid member of the DAA.
- Strength of character, leadership, professionalism, positive attitude, communication skills and the ability to volunteer time and service
- Nominees should uphold high standards, be ethical, maintain integrity and demonstrate a keen interest in the success of both the DAA and the local chapter.
- Must reside in the Chapter's geographical area
The roles below are recommended for a Chapter with three (3) officers. It is possible to elect additional officers and divide the roles of VPs. If there are additional officers, the roles should be well defined to share the duties.
- President
- Total time may average up to 6-8 hours per month, including attending DAA Chapter events.
- Serves as main contact with the DAA
- Ensure that the VPs and their committees are active and functioning.
- Monitor financial status of events.
- Monitor overall chapter metrics.
- Attend and run chapter leadership calls.
- Organize monthly calls of the chapter’s officers; take notes and assign action items
- Volunteer recruitment and training
- Vice President of Marketing/Membership
- Total time may average up to 6-8 hours per month, including attending DAA Chapter events.
- Lead the membership committee and ensure tasks are delegated to the committee members. It is recommended you have 2-3 Committee members to help share the workload.
- Welcome new members in the DAA Community.
- Encourage prospective members to join DAA.
- Promote the chapter and DAA:
- Booth duty at your Chapter events and DAA partnered events as the opportunities arise.
- Talk to universities.
- Attend other organization’s local events.
- Introducing potential corporate prospects to DAA HQ for Corporate Membership.
- Share meeting content, notes, actions with DAA Community, if applicable
- Event Partnerships
- Event Sponsorships
- Vice President of Education/Events
- Total time may average up to 6-8 hours per month, including attending DAA Chapter events.
- Ensure there are regular meetings; minimum of two per year, suggested four per year
- Lead the education/events committee and ensure tasks are delegated to the committee members. It is recommended you have 2-3 Committee members to help share the workload.
- Coordinate with DAA HQ by filling out event submission form for posting events to DAA website, DAA Community, social media, etc.
- Sourcing speakers
- Speaker logistics (slides, welcome, introductions, etc…)
- Securing venues
- Food and beverage
- Event Agendas
1.3 Nominations
Nominations for Chapter Officer positions will be accepted from April 23 to May 15, 2020 at 11:59pm Eastern.
1.4 Submitting a Nomination
The nominee must complete the submission form in full and read and understand the Chapter Handbook to successfully complete a nomination submission. Please contact the vote administrator with any questions concerning the submission form or election documents.
1.5 Posting of Nominees and Qualifications
The list of nominees and the supporting background material provided will be posted to the Digital Analytics Association member website. This information will be available to all Digital Analytics Association chapter members for review and consideration once the voting goes live.
1.6 Voting Period
Voting will open on May 26, 2020. Voting will close on June 8, 2020. Voting will take place only for those Chapters with more than the desired number of candidates. Current Chapter Officers must designate a desired number of Officers (between 3-5) before voting begins.
1.7 Voting Members
The Digital Analytics Association maintains a database of current chapter members. Prior to the voting period, a communication will be sent via electronic mail to notify chapter members of the voting period.
Members of the Digital Analytics Association are eligible to join an unlimited amount of Chapters. You may review your Chapter memberships on the Join/Leave Committees page of your member account.
The set of members eligible to vote in a Chapter Officer election are those that were members of the Digital Analytics Association in good standing & a member of the Chapter at the start of the voting period. Each Chapter will vote on a separate ballot and only members of that Chapter will be eligible to vote.
1.8 Voting Process
Voting is private and completed online with individualized links created by DAA staff. Ballots will be tallied by DAA staff. Officers shall be elected by majority vote.1.9 Announcement of New Officers
Officers who have been elected will be announced to the membership shortly after all candidates have been notified. Those selected will officially take office on July 1, 2020. Based on schedule requirements, the Digital Analytics Association and Executive Director or delegated individuals will hold an 'orientation' conference call to discuss the current Chapter processes and best practices.
