Data Science has proven to be highly impactful in several domains, but is there an application for data science within mental healthcare? This presentation will explore theories and methods behind the potential implementation of data science in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness.
In this presentation, you will discover:
- Problem areas surrounding mental health care and potential data science solutions
- An overview of a technical implementation to tackle these problems using data science
- A vision of what the future of mental health care can look like with the application of data science

Kaitlin Bustos is a Data Science Mentor at SharpestMinds and an experienced Data Scientist. Kaitlin has an academic background in Psychology, Statistics, and Data Science. Additionally, Kaitlin is a Certified Data Science Practitioner, AWS Cloud Practitioner, and Subject Matter Expert in AI. Kaitlin is deeply passionate about solving problems using data; she is most interested in conducting analyses and building predictive models related to human health + well-being with the aim to uncover insights that help drive social innovation.
