Wakefield, MA – September 12, 2011 – On October 3, the Web Analytics Association (WAA) will host another in its successful series of symposiums and networking event in Redmond, WA. Taking place at the Microsoft Campus, the theme of the event is "The Future of Analytics: Leading the Modern Enterprise,” and the symposium will showcase how industry leaders are using data to drive successful businesses. In addition to a highly educational agenda, attendees of this event will benefit from the setting, which allows for incomparable networking opportunities and a chance to converse with top thought leaders in the industry.

Jim Sterne, named one of the 50 most influential people in digital marketing by Revolution and identified as one of the top 25 Hot Speakers by the National Speakers Association, will deliver the opening keynote at the symposium. His presentation will focus on his latest observations on the future of web analytics, marketing analytics and "big data” based on over twenty years of experience in the industry.

The Symposium agenda will also include a panel of experts who will discuss the key issues facing the web analytics industry today. The panel will be moderated by Steve Petitpas, general manager of Microsoft Corporation, and the experts will include: Gary Angel, president of Semphonic, Robert Ashby, director of Microsoft Corporation, Phil Mui, group product manager at Google, Steven Tiltson, senior director at Expedia, and Alex Yoder, CEO of Webtrends.

Some of the additional speakers will include Eric T. Peterson, senior partner and founder of Web Analytics Demystified, Kevin Hillstrom, president of MineThatData, and Joe Megibow, VP and general manager of Expedia US. Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of how to use financial assumptions and conditional probabilities to make informed decisions when perfect data doesn’t exist, how to take advantage of the incredible volume of data pouring off of every single click, view, share, like, tweet and transaction that happens on the Internet, and much more.

Due to the success of the WAA’s first symposium in Seattle last year, this event is expected to grow to an attendance of over 350 marketers, web analysts and practitioners. "We are excited to have so many industry executives and leaders participating as speakers and attendees at this symposium,” said Peter Sanborn, president of the WAA. "The participation of such an esteemed group attests to the importance of the future of analytics in helping marketers realize and exceed their goals.”

Sponsors of the WAA Symposium include Ensighten, IBM, Adobe, MAQ Software, Visible Technologies, and Webtrends. WAA members can register at a discounted fee of $15, and non-members pay only $50 to attend.
