Wakefield, MA — February 21, 2012 — The Web Analytics Association (WAA) today announced that Ryan Zander, who serves as Sportvision’s General Manager of Baseball Products, will be the keynote speaker for the second annual WAA Awards for Excellence Gala. The Gala will take place on March 6, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis during the eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit and will celebrate the outstanding contribution to the web analytics profession by individuals, agencies, vendors and practitioners.

Ryan Zander’s keynote, "Changing The Game: How Data and Analytics Moved from the Boardroom to the Clubhouse,” will include case studies from Major League Baseball surrounding the issues of data collection and analysis challenges. Using cutting edge technology and inventive data analysis, Sportvision, named by Fast Company as one of The World's 50 Most Innovative Companies, has literally changed the way we view, play, and coach sports in America and Zander will explain how through data collection they can do things like track and digitally record the full trajectory of live baseball pitches. Ryan Zander has developed and currently oversees Sportvision’s data business for Major League Baseball teams. While at Sportvision, he’s earned an Emmy Award nomination for RaceView in Motorsports.

“We are very pleased that Ryan Zander will be joining as the keynote speaker for the second annual WAA Awards for Excellence Gala,” said Eric Feinberg, Senior Director of Mobile, Media and Entertainment at ForeSee and WAA membership committee co-chair. "Ryan is an industry pioneer and he has an interesting perspective to share on the ways that digital analytics can be used in new and innovative ways. We look forward to the wealth of information that he will share.”

The awards are made possible in part thanks to the sponsors: IBM, ForeSee, Keystone Solutions, ObservePoint, TagMan and UBC Continuing Studies.
