Digital Analytics Association Symposium in New York to Center on Data is the New Sexy

Friday, March 30, 2012

Wakefield, MA—March 29, 2012— The Digital Analytics Association (DAA), formerly known as the Web Analytics Association (WAA), will host a symposium in New York, NY, at 12:00 p.m. on April 23, 2012. The theme of the event is "Data is the New Sexy," and the half-day seminar will showcase how data is becoming the critical focus of almost every angle of every industry: venture capital, private equity and the companies they invest in, careers, customer insights, media enhancement and beyond, and how the NY environment is driving this growth. This will be the first symposium since the WAA became the DAA and it will be the first symposium to take place in New York. The symposium will help attendees made up of digital analysts, marketing and business professionals gain professional development and networking opportunities, as well as teach them the multiple benefits of good data and how to implement ideas that will put data to the best use.

The opening keynote will focus on "The Expanding Universe of Digital Analytics.” Other presentations will include "The View From Silicon Alley,” which will share a venture capitalist’s analysis of what’s next in big data, "Women in Analytics,” which will discuss how rare it is to find them in the analytics field and how to grow their participation and "When 1 + 1 Doesn’t Equal 2,” where panelists will discuss how to bridge the gap between digital traffic and dollars.

Additionally, there will be five sessions on "The Next Generation of Data in Business: A Showcase of Emerging Companies and How They Creatively Use Data to Drive Success for Their Clients.” The symposium will include presentations from:

"We are looking forward to the inaugural DAA NYC Symposium,” said Peter Sanborn, president of the DAA. "This is a great opportunity for a group of analysts to learn about new data capabilities, but also for them to meet the DAA in its new form and see all the benefits they can gain through membership and participation in the association’s events."

The event will be made possible thanks to contributions from Demandbase, Ensighten, Keystone Solutions, ObservePoint and Viacom. Additional partners include: Anametrix, comScore, eClerx, IQWorkforce, iPerceptions and Tealium. A limited number of additional sponsorship opportunities are still available.
