WAKEFIELD, MA--(Marketwire – January 17, 2013) – The DAA (Digital Analytics Association) has produced a new white paper that provides a comprehensive overview of the key differences on privacy issues between the US and European countries. The white paper was authored by Geddy van Elburg, co-chair of the DAA EU Special Interest Group and CEO of Ionmoon, Netherlands.
As privacy laws in Europe continually evolve, it is essential for digital marketers and analysts to stay abreast of ever-changing best practices for analyzing, storing and processing consumer data. In addition to providing an overview of the key privacy initiatives coming out of Europe, including new regulation, this white paper arms DAA members with a blueprint for ensuring compliance within their own organizations.
“Consumers are concerned about their online data protection, and, ultimately, they want digital marketers to treat them with respect,” said Geddy van Elburg. “DAA members can use this white paper to deepen their understanding about data protection in Europe. This is essential for every exporting company, both in Europe and abroad, as the EU privacy laws will affect your business.”
“European privacy rules and regulations are important to more than just those who sell globally,” said Jim Sterne, DAA Chair. “This represents the forefront of policy on privacy and data protection, and complying will mean massive changes to technology infrastructure as well as legal disclaimers. It's crucial for marketers and digital analysts to understand the immediate and near-term issues.
An abstract is available for public viewing, and the white paper is available for download by DAA members only.
