Close to 100 peer nominations were submitted for the 2019 awards. Finalists were determined earlier this year by popular vote of the organization’s membership. Four of the final award recipients were selected by a panel of distinguished independent judges who represent all sectors of the digital analytics industry. The other four award recipients were selected by the audience at the event, who voted to select the winners, after they made their case on stage for the award by demonstrating their work.

Three other awards were given at the event. The Jim Novo Award of Excellence, given by DAA and the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business, was awarded to Michele Strano, Associate Professor of  Communication Studies at Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA and Jeremy McCarron of Trickfilm in Vancouver, British Columbia.  Strano and McCarron graduated with the highest grade average over all four courses of the UBC Award of Achievement in Digital Analytics.

In addition, the DAA President’s Award, recognizing outstanding volunteer service to DAA in the past year, was given to Mai Alowaish of InfoTrust, LLC for her volunteer work with DAA this past year.  The Jim Sterne Award, which recognizes long-term service and contributions to the industry of digital analytics and DAA was given to Adam Greco of Analytics Demystified.

Sponsors of the Quantie Awards gala included:  Adobe as the Title Sponsor, and Bounteous and InfoTrust as Gold Sponsors.

“The DAA is an army of talented people deployed around the world inside organizations, delivering immensely valuable data-driven analytical insights every day,” said Jeff Allen, Senior Director, Product Marketing, Adobe Analytics, and DAA Board Member/Quantie Award Committee Co-Chair. “The Quantie Awards celebrate the brilliant analysts, consultants, consultancies, and vendors who are creating smarter business that run on data.”
