Jerimiah Hamon, Sr. Mgr. Advanced Analytics, Global S&OP, Microsoft Corporation
My current role at Microsoft as the Senior Manager of the newly created Advanced Analytics for Global S&OP, provides and validates the techniques necessary to plan build quantities and manufacturing purchases. The majority of my experience is in applied math (aka Econometrics) to optimize/forecast consumer behavior. I was lucky enough to participate in the design of Surface, Xbox One and while at Amazon developing the "winning the buy box" algorithm. Education: PhD work in Econometrics, BA - Physics/Math and Middle East Studies (Arabic).
Chris Robson, ORC International
Chris Robson is Senior Vice President of Research Science at ORC International. In this role he leads the Global Research Sciences Group, providing worldwide analytics support to all of ORC’s business units. Prior to joining ORC he was co-founder and Chief Scientist at Parametric Marketing, a research and analytics consultancy. During the ten years he ran Parametric he was responsible for the selection and development of all analysis capabilities. He is a regular speaker at industry events and recently served as President of the NorthWest Chapter of the MRA. He is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in both marketing and technology. Prior to co-founding Parametric, Chris was Vice President of Engineering for WebCriteria, Inc. Prior to that, he spent thirteen years with Hewlett-Packard in a variety of senior management roles in R&D, Marketing, Business Development and Advanced Research. He started his career as a mathematician building complex statistical models of radar systems.
Amelia Showalter, Obama For America
Amelia Showalter is the former Director of Digital Analytics at President Obama’s re-election campaign. She led a cutting-edge Digital Analytics team that designed and implemented hundreds of experiments to improve the performance of all types of digital outreach. Before the Obama campaign, she provided data analysis and microtargeting to dozens of campaigns as a strategist at Changing Targets Media and MSHC Partners. Her new mission as a solo consultant is to bring the Obama campaign’s culture of rigorous testing and analysis to progressive organizations, campaigns, and firms.
Elliott Waldron, Director of Analytics, Placed
Over the past fourteen years, Elliott Waldron has practiced the application of quantitative analysis to solving a number of real-world business problems including airfare prediction, financial timeseries prediction and geolocation modeling. Prior to joining Placed, Elliott was Managing Partner and Cofounder at L1 Partners, a Seattle-based hedge fund that used machine learning to trade financial futures. Prior to L1, he played a key role in developing the world's first airfare prediction service at Farecast. Elliott Waldron earned a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a BA in Psychology from the University of Puget Sound.
