Ben Abbott Founder and Principal, Ben Abbott Analytics

Ben is an independent marketing and analytics consultant. He has 20 years of experience helping organizations make better use of data to achieve a wide range of objectives. He began his digital analytics career in 1999 while launching some of Capital One’s first online customer acquisition efforts. Currently, Ben works with clients to find creative ways to provide meaningful data about their digital properties. His company is a certified Google Analytics and AdWords partner. Ben enjoys that moment when a client realizes that Google Analytics can actually give them insights about their particular business problem, and gets especially excited whenever he has the opportunity to combine data from multiple systems. Ben lives in Arlington, VA with his wife, Christa, and three children.

Amy Bastian is the Director of Analytics and Testing for Digital Engagement at The Nature Conservancy. In her current role, she works closely with content, fundraising, social, and communications teams to provide access to and insight from qualitative and quantitative data sources. Throughout her career, she has helped non-profits leverage technology and analytics to work more efficiently, allowing them more time and resources to go towards their mission.

Marissa Goldsmith Founder, Goldsmith Interactive, LLC

Marissa Goldsmith is an independent consultant in the Washington, DC area. Her focus is on using data and analytics to make smart, informed decisions for better results and overall user experience. Prior to this, she spent 9 years in the agency world, working with a diverse field of nonprofit clients. She worked on all aspects of website design and development, from requirements gathering to QA.

Kyle leads analytics research for all of Vox Media's brands in developing best practices to increase audience across all platforms. He also leads the data teams for other business units at the company, including revenue, finance, and product. He briefly served as Analytics Editor during the launch of vox.com to specifically research audience and content analytics for the brand to support quick growth. Prior to Vox, Kyle managed the analytics team at the Washington Post, and also worked for Dow Jones, comScore, as well as other non-media companies in a variety of different roles around data.

Jeremy Roberts, Senior Director of Learning Technologies for PBS KIDS Digital

Jeremy Roberts is Senior Director of Learning Technologies for PBS KIDS Digital, where he works closely with award-winning content properties such as Curious George, Dinosaur Train, and The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! to deliver innovative educational media and real-world experiences to kids aged 2-8 across multiple platforms including web, phone, tablet, whiteboards, video and reality itself. Roberts also oversees development of playful learning experiences utilizing newer and promising technologies for learning including personalized and adaptive content, voice and facial recognition, conversational user experiences and more.

One of Roberts' core initiatives is the development of the PBS KIDS Learning Analytics Platform, designed to help parents and educators track kids' progress and proficiency across skill frameworks aligned to educational standards by capturing, storing and analyzing game play data for individual kids and groups, and to provide a quality measurement foundation upon which personalized and adaptive learning experiences may be pioneered. The system also includes tools to help game developers continue to improve the educational effectiveness of their games, and provides academic researchers access on an unprecedented scale to the granular in-game activity of millions of PBS KIDS.
